SMT double splice tape (SMS-0108C+)
The double tape is mainly used for paper carriers. The tape can also be used on plastic carriers. However, the plastic carriers have to be tested to see if the combination of the carrier's structure, the splice tape and the SMT machine can work together. An advantage in using the double tape is that there is no need for metal clips. Without the need for clips and hand tools, the splicing goes faster.
The raised dots on the clear splice tape carrier engage with the sprocket holes in the SMD tape. Double Splice Tape is used to splice 8mm to 24 mm SMD carrier tapes and is available in the colours yellow, blue, black and green. The 8 mm width is also available with a 45 degree bevelled that minimizes the risk for peeling. The double tape works for most component feeders and machines.
